My Interview with Pastor Todd.....Leaving Mormonism...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
( I have decided to share my on-line interview I had with Pastor Todd. My interview was about my choice of leaving the LDS church and the struggles, tears, and joy that followed.)

HI4LDS Interviews With Previous Mormons - Pam
October 8, 2007 by Todd Wood

TODD: Pam and her husband, Don, became members of our church family this summer. I know Pam’s parents and respect them. I tip my hat to them because they have reared a fine daughter. With any interaction that I have had with them, I hope that all of Pam’s LDS family can see the Lord’s love in me. But I have also come to rejoice with all my heart in Pam’s sincere faith in Christ as defined by Scripture. Please listen to Pam’s story.

Pam, could you introduce our readers to just how far back in your family generations the LDS faith travels?

PAM: Hi Pastor Todd. Thank you for asking. I am a 7th generation (ex) Mormon. My ancestors go all the way back to the days of Joseph Smith. Though I am not related to Emma and Joseph Smith, my ancestors were very close to the Smiths: one being his personal body guard.

TODD: Pam, that is amazing. So before we delve into the wonderful story of how you became an evangelical Christian, is there anything about your early LDS family and upbringing that you appreciated? What can you look back on and be thankful for about your cultural heritage? Or perhaps, there might not be much to suggest as good. Feel free to share what you think.

PAM: This is a very good question as many LDS members seem to think that anyone that leaves Mormonism must have had a bad experience. To think that, it would not only give them comfort that nothing was wrong with their doctrine, but also makes it difficult for them to understand why anyone would want to leave w/o having a bad experience.

Well, I didn’t really have any kind of bad experience that made me leave. Simply, the answer is that the Lord delivered me out of bondage upon my asking for HIS truth.

Let me answer your question on my upbringing and having appreciation for that culture.

My grandmother on my mother’s side, you might say, was the “glue” of our family.

Let me back up and share that she had ten children (9 girls – 1 boy). My grandmother would spend Saturdays getting all of the dresses ready for Sunday. The 9 girls would have their hair done up in curls. The one son had that part easy. LOL! My grandmother loaded up the car with the kids and placed a picnic basket in the trunk. After many Sundays after church, they would sing all kinds of family songs while driving to their picnic areas.

Sadly, after about one half of the kids were off and married, my grandfather left my grandmother. (They were Temple Mormons).

My Grandma continued to rear the remaining kids at knee, teaching LDS Doctrine and living the ways in which they believed. They continued to press forward after losing the farm. They hit hard times many times. She canned goods, loved gardening, knitted, crocheted, mended, cooked and pressed for all of her kids to be educated. She believed whole heartedly in her scriptures and was an avid reader.

When I was still a Mormon, I referred to my grandma as the Family’s Wise Owl. Everyone turned to her for advice for almost everything.

Now having had her for an example, gave her daughters (which has given the grandkids) that same “drive” to make it through the hard times.

I said she was the “glue”, as she held the family together in many ways. She started up the Family Reunions and pressed for them to be successful. Family gatherings on holidays were another joy she passed on. She was adamant on the importance of family and having a Heritage.

From my Mom, she also showed me, through life’s experiences the importance to press on when times were tough and not to give up. She may not have canned as much, but she can make a mean salsa! My Mom also taught me sewing, crocheting, some cooking, and also taught me the importance of morals and values. All of these things have made a big impact in my life, especially now that I am older and raising my own children.

I am very thankful for my family and “family traditions”. I also appreciate family gatherings with loved ones, and having the “drive” to move forward when things get tough.

Now having said that, one would ask with all of that love and positive family influences, how could I leave?

Truth is, it wasn’t easy, nor were they receptive upon my leaving Mormonism. They haven’t been able to separate the family strong holds from the religion part. Even though the family values and the love were there, the LDS doctrine left me empty inside. These entirely wonderful “Family Traditions” and Heritage given, it still left me unsaved.

(Pastor Todd, I did want to add one area that needs to be emphasized about having the “drive” to move forward. Before I was a Christian, having that “drive” during hard times is very different than being a Christian. As a non-believer, I worked hard to get through those hard times. I did it because I had to. I could count on “myself” and on my “family”. Becoming a believer, there is a very different outlook to hard times. Though that “drive” is still there, when I turn it over to God, there is more security by not depending on “myself” to do it. There are things in life that “we” as humans can’t fix and need HIS guidance and HIS mercy. Becoming a Christ follower doesn’t mean the days are easy. When the cross is too heavy to carry through the storm, “JOY”, “PEACE” and “HOPE” by leaning on HIM is found.)

TODD: Sometime, Pam, I will need to try some of your mom’s “mean salsa.” But I am warning everyone – it doesn’t take much pepper to have me cryin’ like a baby. My wife spent a summer in Mexico; she makes me look like a wimp when it comes to tangling with the red and green stuff.

Ok, Pam, here are some more big questions. As you personally studied scriptures, what could you not reconcile with the LDS faith and practice that saturated your life? And secondly, may you explain for me and our readers how you went from “unsaved” to now saved?

PAM: Pastor Todd. These questions are important as they are things God brought to my attention for discernment. The LDS Doctrine can not go over looked. It is dangerous for anyone to be passive and /or accept it as truth. LDS doctrine totally contradicts the Bible. There are many areas in the LDS faith that can not be reconciled to, nor accepted. The LDS teachings can not be backed up by Biblical scripture.

One of the concerns is that the LDS teachings have no room for “Saved by Grace” and John 3:16 is overlooked with Temple works.

Another major contradiction, the Mormon Doctrine teaches no salvation without Joseph Smith: Joseph Fielding Smith, Mormonism’s tenth president, went on record as saying that there is “no salvation without Joseph Smith” (Doctrine of Salvation 1:189).

In his article entitled “Joseph Smith Among the Prophets” printed in the June 1994 issue of “Ensign” magazine, Mormon writer Robert L. Millet quoted second LDS Prophet Brigham Young, who in 1859 stated:

“From the day that priesthood was taken from the earth to the winding up things of all things, every man and woman must have the certificate of Joseph Smith, junior, as a passport to their entrance into the mansion where God and Christ are – I with you and you with me. I cannot go there without his consent” (Journal of Discourses 7:238). See also Search These Commandments, 1984, p. 133).

John 14:6 says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (“Me” refers to Christ, as Joseph Smith’s name has never appeared in the Bible at any time). John 5:22 declares, “For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son.” It is the righteous judgment of Jesus Christ the Mormon must fear, not Joseph Smith.

Considering Joseph Smith is the foundation of all of Mormonism, it falls like sand through fingers knowing Joseph Smith is/was a false prophet. Many times he said, “Thus saith the Lord,” and his prophecy never came true. Deuteronomy 18:20-22 exhorts,

“But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded him to say, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, must be put to death. You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the LORD? If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.”

Ironically, Joseph Smith had over 50 prophecies that never came to pass. Some he prophesied in the very generation, yet never happened. It only takes one prophecy to not come to pass to be a false prophet.

Also, we have the blasphemous false teaching about becoming Gods and Goddesses. Satan was kicked out of heaven for the same desires!!! Isaiah 43:10-11 shares,

“You are My witnesses,” says the LORD, “And My servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was not God formed, nor shall there be after Me. I, even I, am the LORD, and besides Me there is no savior.”

Isaiah clearly states that there are no other Gods, therefore the Mormon God does not have a Daddy. And we will NOT become Gods!! Also, it states that besides HIM (God) there is no other savior because the only Savior is Christ and He is ‘I Am’ . . . ONE GOD, the Alpha and Omega!

Obviously, this rules out the pre-existence notion that we are HIS brother along with Satan. This is NOT Biblical. To believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers demeans God. To say we are worthy enough to be God’s brothers (sisters) is a bit puffed up. We are not from Kalob planet, born as a spirit to be born again on earth. Joseph Smith was biblically illiterate and had no idea what born again meant.

Another major area that can’t be ignored is that either Joseph Smith either forgot what he wrote, or he was attempting to change who the Creator was in his teachings. He obviously couldn’t keep his story straight, writing The Pearl of Great Price. This is totally amazing, and many never see it. Why? Many LDS don’t read all of their doctrines like most Christians. Take a look in The Pearl of Great Price. In Moses chapter 2, it states, “And I, God, said . . .” The Book of Abraham chapter 4 teaches about multiple Gods involved in creation, “AND THE GODS CREATED.” No, it was not a typo. There are a couple of pages with verses after verses declaring that THE GODS created the earth. Now, that certainly isn’t biblical, and it takes away from the One God of the Bible who is the real Creator.

Another area that can not go unnoticed is the satanic symbols on the temples. The pentagram for one can’t be denied. They are satanic and are used for such purposes.

The LDS Doctrine is false. It can not go along as a companion to the Bible, God’s only true Word. The God of the Bible is Everlasting to Everlasting. He was not once a man that the LDS make claims for HIM to be. To say he was once a man and had to work out His own salvation would be saying He was a man of sinful nature.

It’s very scary to know that so many lives are in danger by whether or not a testimony (that was changed a few times) of a 14 year old boy is true. We are not to place our faith upon man’s testimony alone. It must be backed up by the Bible. Joseph Smith’s testimony can not be backed up with scripture because it’s unbiblical.

LDS teachings can not be accepted as truth. It is not biblical but very corrupt. These teachings will lead one astray into everlasting darkness. There are not second chances once a person dies.

As you can see, the bondage that many Mormons are caught up in is very delusional. I am very concerned for the Mormon people that are in bondage to a religion that offers devastation and separation from God. My heart breaks for them. I know those fears of leaving Mormonism. But coming out of Mormonism and into Christianity, I know that my God is strong enough to see anyone through.

TODD: Pam, I didn’t really know this about Moses and The Book of Abraham in The Pearl of Great Price; I have only read the Book of Mormon and Doctrine & Covenants. But since we have started a Sunday evening perusal of Genesis, I would like to personally explore these issues more and read for the first time the Joseph Smith Translation on Genesis. I do want to see for myself how Joseph intersects with the “beginnings” in the KJV.

And in conclusion, could you now share your salvation experience?

PAM: I was a Mormon for 27 years before I decided to do a full investigation on the LDS Church. Most Mormons that are born into that church have no reason to think it may be wrong. It’s easy to go along with it, as your parents and probably all or most of the family members are LDS, too. Nothing much to question . . . ummmmmm until one begins to ask God for HIS True Word and having the desire to really know what is true and what is a lie. HE then helps you to find HIM. (SEEK HIM and there you shall find HIM!) “But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and all your soul” (Deut. 4:29).

I have been accused many times (and some still may do so today) of my setting out to look for the church to be in the wrong. NOPE! They were so wrong in their hurtful statements of false accusations. The truth is, I actually set out to become the “Temple Girl”. I took classes to become “Mormon enlightened,” taught by a missionary in the young adults ward. I wanted to be worthy in that church. I wanted to marry a temple worthy man and be sealed for time and eternity. I believed the Book of Mormon was true, even when I hadn’t read it.

During my little journey of becoming temple worthy and taking Mormon classes, things began to change. My sister worked for a chiropractor. He was a Christian and began sharing things about the Bible. A Bible study was starting soon. We were both invited to go. We signed up while we were still attending the LDS Church. Ironically, the class was starting on “The Book of John!”

“In the beginning was THE Word . . . and the WORD was with God, and the word WAS GOD.” WOOHOOOO, a wake up call! Then came John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that HE gave HIS ‘ONLY’ begotten Son, that whoever believes in HIM should not perish but have everlasting life!!!!!

WOW! HIS ‘ONLY’ Son, meaning that Satan is NOT Christ’s brother . . . and believing in Christ that He died on the cross for MY SINS and rose again on the third day, believing that HE IS MY ONLY LORD AND MY SAVIOR . . . I AM SAVED! (A gift from God, not works, so no one can boast!) How intense this class became. Now I was really reading HIS Word! I began asking more questions, praying more, shedding tears, standing all amazed, yet wondering how this can be. Understanding what was meant by “SAVED BY GRACE” and “MERCY”—I was learning a new language.

I asked God to show me the truth. A few questions about Joseph Smith didn’t add up!! Why was he so important? Was he a true prophet? I wanted to know if he was a true prophet or not. I didn’t ask to see if the LDS church was false . . . I simply asked God for ‘the truth’ . . . THE TRUTH SET ME FREE!!! The harder I looked to find Joseph Smith truthful, the more God showed me he wasn’t. I thought well then, either Joseph Smith is a true prophet or he is false.

On a Sunday morning, I asked the LDS missionary teacher in my class about these “personages”. I was basically told to be quiet, don’t ask, and just believe what they say! I apparently moved the missionary out of his comfort-zone, and he had no answers.

THIS CALLED FOR a full investigation of the teachings of the LDS church! The Lord directed me to HIS Truth and sent wonderful Christians my way. They were all such a blessing! (And patient with me, too.)

I began to compare scriptures (Bible to BoM). I also had received a gift from my sister for Easter, as we were both searching by this time. The book, my sister gave me was called Beyond Mormonism, an Elder’s Story by James R. Spencer. James (Jim) shared many things of Darkness that the LDS teachings hold. The book gave reliable references as well. I was able to further my research and see that the LDS Doctrines contradicted themselves with their own doctrines.

I went through heart ache, anger, and fears and then back to anger knowing that I had been deceived by the LDS teachings! I was lied to! Joseph Smith lied many times and so did Brigham Young! Joseph Smith was/is a FALSE PROPHET! The LDS church was and still is teaching false doctrines! (Many innocent Mormons are lost and have no clue.)

The Bible doesn’t say, if you do all of these ordinances, tokens, believe that Joseph Smith is a true prophet, be sealed in the Temple, don’t defile your garments, know the secret handshakes, pay up all your tithes, stay worthy (we are filthy rags by the way), keep the word of wisdom, do aaaaaaallllllll of these things, etc., etc., and etc., then you will have everlasting life. Though “God’s right hand man” Joseph Smith should say so . . . NOT SO! If all of these things are required for salvation, that would say that Jesus died on the cross in vain. That would also say that God isn’t a Redeemer, if we all have to earn our way and have second chances by proxy.

Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Joseph Smith has no part in my life and needed not in anyone else’s life for that matter. It’s all about Jesus NOT Joseph Smith. This was a whole new world for me. There were tears of joy, knowing I was on my way out of bondage!

I then had to make that final decision. Which Master did I want to follow? The God of the Bible who is Omnipotent reigning or the one who leads to everlasting burnings. On my knees, I asked the Lord God (as revealed in the Bible) to forgive me for my sins and to be my One and only Lord and Savior.

After I spent time in prayer with the Lord, I soon knew I needed to be rebaptized. And so I did. I was baptized in the Pacific Ocean.

After moving back to Idaho, my home state where I got married, I sent in the letters to have my name removed from the temple/church records. Ever since I left Mormonism, I have had such a strong desire to help others, including my loved ones out of bondage. I pray one day every Mormon will be delivered out of darkness and receive the true gift of salvation in Christ.

A couple of years ago, my husband and I started a Mormonism class. It was a Study/Discussion group. We used the Mormonism 101 book by Bill McKeever. By doing that class, I knew that’s exactly where the Lord wants me to be. Sometimes the topics were heart-wrenching, but having HIS drive and serving HIM is what it’s all about. Another blessing was through our class, we were able to have Jim Spencer come to Idaho Falls for a 2 day seminar. Many were blessed.

Dennis and Rauni Higley have been another blessing to me. They have been a true inspiration in my life and I am grateful for their continued support in their Ministry. Their love for the LDS community is humbling.

There have been many Christians that the Lord has brought into my life. My husband, Sister, Brother-in-law, friends, and ministries, all of which are for HIS Glory!

It’s incredible how the Lord brings people together across the miles, helping one walk those last hard miles and helping each other over the ridged cliffs in HIM. I am so grateful to be out of bondage and saved by Christ Jesus. HE has blessed me so much! Though there are many trials I still go through, Jesus is right there with me every step of the way. He is Sovereign!

TODD: Some time, I would like to meet this guy, Bill McKeever, and the Higleys, who you have mentioned. I don’t know much about their lives or their stories.

With all your capitalized letters, I sense loud and clear you are passionate about your experiences in Christ, Pam. J Jesus Christ is eternal God of very God, but now man, too. Reminds me of an old phrase, translated today in English, which Jesus impresses to our hearts: “I am what I was, God. But I was not what I am now, Man. I am now both God and man.”

He is omnipotent. He is our Creator. He is Sovereign. He is Salvation. He is the father. He is the husband. He is the brother. He is the holy temple. He is the high priest. He is the Prophet. He is sufficient. He is the fount for absolutely everything we need for our lives to work. Forever. Pam, I appreciate your time spent in writing. Thanks for your public interaction on HI4LDS. A New Babe in Christ at 97 years old.

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
(During my Grandmother's (Nana) funeral, I shared my Tribute)

Tribute to Nana

Psalm 121

God- the help of those who seek Him.
I lift my eyes to the hills
From whence does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven & earth.
He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.

Slumber? Isn’t that awesome to know God-the Almighty One doesn’t slumber…..but we do. We slumber in many ways: we procrastinate, put off, wait for someone else to do it, sleep in hopes when we wake up, the work will be done. Sometimes in our attitude, we attach a sign to it saying, “I’d rather be fishing.” Why do we do that?

Time.

Humans tend to think there’s always tomorrow. So we slumber.

Nana had a good life I many ways. Her parents were financially well off. Her dad did very well being the family provider. Later, Nana became a teacher and Granddad was a school principle. Nana had almost every part of her life well organized and planned out.

She enjoyed golfing, outdoors, gardening, teaching, Elks Club, friends, needlework, ceramics, sewing, crafts, and cooking big dinners for family gatherings. Nana had a very happy life for the most part. She loved her great grandchildren and enjoyed knowing about their progress in their academics. She was delighted that Shawn taught himself to spell and match numbers as well as beginning phonics. Nana also was excited to know that Shineese enjoyed home school; especially Science and Social Studies.

Though she wasn’t able to see all of her grandkids and great grandkids often, she told me recently that she loved each any every one of them.

Over the years, people get so busy and let time go by. Perhaps, slumber can happen when one becomes so busy, they lose their direction thus their ship drifts off course. For 97 years, the Lord knew where Nana’s ship was drifting off to.

Before Nana’s terrible fall, the Lord placed her on my heart. The burden was so strong that I wept and wept. The tears just kept rolling and I prayed to God. I, as well as others have prayed that the Lord would not take Nana before she was saved. This burden was placed in such a way; it could not be put off. She was not saved. For 97 years, her party ship of doing good things, she lost her way and drifted,

That night I wept, I knew that Jesus, my Savior, was calling me to go to Nana to tell her about HIM . She needed to hear the true gospel from the Word, the Bible, and know true salvation.

I called her and made an appointment to go see her. I had planned on staying there about 2 hours. However, God planned on me being with her for 5 ½ hours.

In that time, God blessed me so much and gave me that precious time as a gift. He truly blessed me for being there with her. I was blessed with 5 ½ hours of teaching her doctrinal differences, and to tell her who the true Jesus of the Bible is. In this time, I was able to witness to her HIS Salvation plan.

This time given to me can never be taken away by anyone. That was a very special day.

During the visit, I was able to tell her about the Book of John.

~In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. Meaning- HE is Jesus and Jesus is the Word. The Word is God. It goes on to say- All things were made through HIM, and without Him, nothing was made that was not made. Meaning- there is only ONE God and HE created everything from nothing. One God only. The Alpha and Omega.

Verse 14 of John says And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

God became flesh, The Christ Child and dwelt among us to behold HIS glory!

During this blessed visit, Nana asked many questions. She soon knew who the true God was. Her questions were very intriguing as she understood HIS message. She had the desire to know HIS Word and HIS Truth. After 51/2 hours, we closed in prayer. Before I left, I sat her Bible close to her bed and left her reading material of “John” & “Romans”.

Just before leaving she told be she had never heard me speak with such words. She was surprised with everything I was able to share and she had no idea I knew about the things I shared. I smiled and said many have been praying for this day. They were not my words, they were HIS Words and the Glory is His, not mine. She became silent.

I was in ~AWE as God truly blessed that day.

Weeks past in my busy schedule, I had slumbered. The Lord nudged me and reminded me to follow up on that visit. HE did not slumber, but was patient with this slumbering sheep. (Me) I picked up the phone and gave Nana a call. I asked God before I called for HIS help for the right wording. We talked for sometime. She said that she did read some of the material I left. That night on the phone, Nana gave her life to Christ. She accepted Jesus into her heart and asked HIM to be her Savior. We prayed together on the phone and she is now the daughter of the King. She is in HIS Kingdom!

A few days later, she took that horrible fall. She had a lot of brain bleeding, leaving her very confused. I went up to visit her. While she slept, I quietly read out loud Bible scriptures in hopes to comfort her. When she awoke, I began talking to her. I asked her if she remembered accepting Jesus. At that time…. She thought I was Jesus and tried to sit up saying, “Oh you are? I’d better listen then.” I smiled and let her know I was not Jesus. Then she came to and said, “Yes, I do remember…I remember that phone call!” She responded well and quickly remembered my visit and our discussion on doctrines.

I reminded her is now in the Kingdom and she is a daughter of the King! She placed her hand over her heart and patted it and smiled with True Joy. Her eyes lit up just like a child. What a true blessing, as I had prayed that God would bless me that Nana would be coherent while I was there visiting. We talked for almost an hour before she went back to sleep.

Later, while at the rehab center, though it was sad to see her in such a confused state, afraid, uncertain of her surroundings, I reminded her she was the daughter of the King, All she has to do was call out to Jesus and He will help her. She gave a warming smile and said, “That’s Right!” She squeezed my hand and smiled. When she was reminded that God would help her, a peace came over her and she was comforted in HIM. She continued to hang on to my hand.

Though I slumbered and didn’t follow up as quickly as I should have, God was patient with me and gave me that nudge. Time…..no one knows how much time anyone has. With God’s grace and HIS mercy, the prayers were answered. How close that was? He kept it in HIS timing. Praise God for HIS tender mercy with HIS sheep that slumber and doze off at times. HIS sheep need their Shepherd. HIS sheep need HIS guidance and protection, even a nudge every one in awhile.

How many times do we slumber, put things off, and don’t research something whether it is from pride or fear? We then have no clue that our ship drifted off course.

Nana in God’s grace and in HIS mercy was saved. Nana, is now a Christian….a believer and a follower of Christ. What a blessing this is!

Closing, I will share John 3:16 For God so loved the world that HE gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God helps those that truly seek HIM. He does not slumber. He keeps our foot from slipping. Nana’s help came from the Lord. She was once lost, but now she is found.

Thank You Jesus for your loving and tender mercy.

This is HIS Glory……Lenore is now a daughter of the King!

Letter of Truth

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Dearest Friend,

I am bringing you “Good News” and pray that it is received in love. Your very soul depends on this truth I am sending. I love you and it is God’s (The one of the Bible) desire that you know Him and have a relationship with Him.

The LDS people have been deceived like I was. The Mormon Doctrine contradicts the Bible many times.

It is blasphemy to be a false Prophet; Joseph Smith had 53 prophecies that never came to pass. Example of one that never happened: 1 A aREVELATION of Jesus Christ unto his servant Joseph Smith, Jun., and six elders, as they bunited their hearts and clifted their voices on high.
2 Yea, the word of the Lord concerning his church, established in the last days for the arestoration of his people, as he has spoken by the mouth of his bprophets, and for the cgathering of his dsaints to stand upon eMount Zion, which shall be the city of fNew Jerusalem.
3 Which city shall be abuilt, beginning at the btemple lot, which is appointed by the finger of the Lord, in the western boundaries of the State of Missouri, and cdedicated by the hand of Joseph Smith, Jun., and others with whom the Lord was well pleased.
4 Verily this is the word of the Lord, that the city aNew Jerusalem shall be built by the gathering of the saints, beginning at this place, even the place of the temple, which btemple shall be creared in this dgeneration.
5 For verily this generation shall not all apass away until an bhouse shall be built unto the Lord, and a ccloud shall rest upon it, which cloud shall be even the dglory of the Lord, which shall fill the house.

It is interesting that Joseph Smith said in Doc & Cov sec 84: 21 & 22 -21 And without the ordinances thereof, and the aauthority of the priesthood, the power of godliness is bnot manifest unto men in the flesh; 22 For without this no aman can see the face of God, even the Father, and live. YET…Joseph Smith claims to have seen these personages of God talking to him BEFORE he had the priesthood and lived. This contradicts Joseph Smith’s words.

We are told to test all spirits. 1 John 4:1-6
1 John 4
1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
4Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
5They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.
6We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

In John 1:1-3 it says, In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.. Notice I underlined He was with God….meaning “JESUS”…ALSO it goes on to say in verse14 a. that the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.” Now if you re read that, you will soon see that the Word was with God from all time. The Word is Jesus. (Doesn’t say Satan…says all things were made by HIM…meaning the Angels, Satan, powers etc.)

As you read the Book of John, it states that “the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.” Clearly that means that Jesus is God and God made Himself “flesh” to dwell among us. He had to become the Christ Child in order to reach out to us and shed HIS blood for our sins.

Because HE had to do this, one would mock HIM should they teach we have to earn our way to heaven, thus the death and resurrection of Jesus would have meant NOTHING if we can just earn our way with Temple works, ordinances, endowments, baptizing for the dead, tokens…and the list goes on and on.

HIS Salvation is a gift. Ephesians 2:7-9
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
We chose to accept HIS wonderful gift or throw it away by false beliefs that we earn our way to become gods on other planets.

The late LDS President, Joseph Fielding Smith, in his 3-volume book, Doctrines of Salvation writes: “EXALTATION: TO BECOME LIKE GOD… [means] possessing the same attributes in their perfection, as the Father and Son now possess... How can the saints receive his fullness and be equal with the Lord, and not be as he is, that is, gods? ...They shall, through the glory and blessing of the Almighty, become creators.” (Vol. 2, pp. 35-36)

Joseph Smith taught the godhood of men. He said, “God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted man, and sits in yonder heavens! I am going to tell you how God came to be God. We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea…you have to learn how to be Gods yourselves…the same as all Gods have done before you…” (Teachings, pp. 345-346.)

Brigham Young said, “God created you and me for the purpose of becoming Gods like Himself… to become Gods like unto our Father in heaven. That is the truth about it, just as it is. The Lord has organized mankind for the express purpose of increasing in that intelligence and truth, which is with God, until he [a man] is capable of creating worlds on worlds, and becoming Gods…” (Journal of Discourses, vol. 3:93.)

Mormon Doctrine, p. 321-323, says, “That exaltation which the saints of all ages have so devoutly sought is GODHOOD itself…no one fully knows God except another exalted personage who is like him in all respects…They are gods.”
“…both the Father and the Son, as also all exalted beings, are now or in due course will become Gods of Gods.” (In above quotes some emphasis is added.)

Interesting enough, Satan was kicked out for the same idea. Satan was an “Angel of Light” and wanted to be a god. Satan and his followers were kicked out of heaven and will be in everlasting burnings FOREVER. Now, Joseph Smith comes along and adds his own doctrine, teaching that the Mormon can become gods and goddesses’ on their own planets. So what is God to us if we too shall become our own god? That is Blasphemy! There is only ONE GOD and one God only.

Isaiah 45:5 I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:

Isaiah 45:21-22
21Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
22Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.
As you notice that in 21 it just said that God is also our Savior.

Joseph Smith also taught that God is an exalted man and God was once a man which is false teaching; as God was always God…not a sinful, fallen man as we all are.
I also find it disturbing that Brigham Young taught that no one can enter heaven without the approval of Joseph Smith, YET the Bible which is the only Word of God states in
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Compare the Bible to the contradictions:
In a conference speech delivered on April 8, 1973, LDS Apostle Mark E. Petersen proclaimed that salvation "comes only through the Church itself as the Lord established it... Therefore it was made clearly manifest that salvation is in the Church, and of the Church, and is obtained only through the Church."

The problem with Petersen's assessment is that salvation comes by faith in Jesus Christ, not membership in a church. It is our faith in Christ which makes us a member of Christ's Body, or in other words, the Church. This church is not, nor ever has been, an organization. Rather, the Church, or Body of Christ, is made up of individuals throughout the world who have placed their total trust in Jesus Christ for their salvation. Despite this biblical truth, Joseph Fielding Smith, Mormonism's tenth president, went on record as saying that there is "no salvation without Joseph Smith." (Doctrine of Salvation 1:189).
In his article entitled "Joseph Smith Among the Prophets" printed in the June 1994 issue of "Ensign" magazine, Mormon writer Robert L. Millet quoted second LDS Prophet Brigham Young, who, in 1859, stated, "From the day that the priesthood was taken from the earth to the winding up things of all things, every man and woman must have the certificate of Joseph Smith, junior, as a passport to their entrance into the mansion where God and Christ are -- I with you and you with me. I cannot go there without his consent" (Journal of Discourses 7:238. See also Search These Commandments, 1984, pg. 133).

Along those same lines Brigham Young also taught, "How are you going to get your resurrection? You will get it by the President of the resurrection pertaining to this generation, and that is Joseph Smith Jun. Hear it all ye ends of the earth; if ever you enter into the kingdom of God it is because Joseph Smith let you go there. This will apply to Jews and Gentiles, to the bond, and the free; to friends and foes; no man or woman in this generation will get a resurrection and be crowned, without Joseph Smith saying so. The man who was martyred in Carthage Jail, State of Illinois, holds the keys of life and death to this generation. He is the President of the resurrection in this dispensation, ..." (An unpublished Discourse given October 8, 1854. Also found on page 99 of Eugene E. Campbell's book entitled, "The Essential Brigham Young"). (www.hismin.com Dennis & Rauni Higley)

George Q. Cannon, a former member of the First Presidency, also said that Joseph Smith plays a pivotal role in the salvation plan. "If we get our salvation, we shall have to pass by him; if we enter into our glory, it will be through the authority that he has received" (Gospel Truth, pp. 199, 200).
These statements remove all doubt that if true salvation is to be gained, Joseph Smith must play a part in it. Such teachings are an offense to the Christian who holds the Bible dear. John 5:22 declares, "For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son." It is the righteous judgment of Jesus Christ the Mormon must fear, not Joseph Smith
It doesn’t even mention Salvation through Joseph Smith in the Bible. Salvation is through Christ ONLY.

The work of God tells us in John 6:29 This is the work of God, that you believe in HIM whom sent HIM.

John 3:16 & 17 16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

We are told in the Bible to confess with our mouth to God our faith in the Lord Jesus. This means to pray to God.

Romans 10:9 If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.
You can have everlasting life with God only by your faith in Jesus Christ. His death on the cross removed forever all your sins, and believing in His resurrection from the dead will give you everlasting life with Him. God knows your heart. But you can talk to God. Tell Him that you believe and trust in what Jesus Christ has done for you. Pray to God from your heart. This prayer is only an example as a guide. Pray to God using your own words.

Dear God,
I know that I have done many sinful deeds. I know that no one can be justified before You by keeping commandments or doing good works because no one can be perfect. I believe that You came to Earth as a man, Jesus Christ. I believe Jesus took upon Himself the sins of the whole world when He was crucified and physically died on a cruel cross at Calvary. I believe Jesus Christ was buried. I believe in my heart that on the third day You, God, physically raised Jesus bodily from the dead. I believe Jesus ascended to Heaven and sat down at Your right hand where He reigns as my Advocate.
I believe that You, God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit are one God. I thank Jesus for taking away my sins forever. I believe Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I believe You will send the Holy Spirit to live within me. I believe I am born again in the Spirit and will now have eternal life with You. Thank You, God, for forgiving me and giving me everlasting life.
In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.

Search for HIS Truth….not on feelings, experiences or a burning of the bosom.
The kingdom of darkness and give “feelings” but the kingdom of darkness cannot give HIS truth.

Will you search and pray to the God of the Bible and read the Book of John and Romans? Are you willing to search the Bible and be certain you know exactly where you will be in the hereafter? Will you choose to follow the Jesus of the Bible?

Gordon B. Hinckley stated a couple of times as a testimony that he does NOT believe in the traditional Jesus of the Bible that the Christians do. He believes in a different one. He just admitted his Jesus is not the Biblical one. This is serious!

The Jesus of the Bible does NOT have a wicked brother by the name of Satan. This is not Biblical either. Jesus and God are ONE. Reread John 1 in the Beginning was the Word.

Which Jesus will you follow? Will you believe the teachings of Jesus in the Bible or Joseph Smith that died a sinful man with many errors?

PLEASE….PLEASE….. Take this letter seriously and don’t throw away HIS Truth!

I love you so much and I pray for your salvation. It is my prayer that every LDS person is delivered from the occult bondage and be free in Christ Jesus to be the Bride of Christ at the Lord’s Supper. Every Mormon is worth fighting for. I love them and desire each one to seek the truth and know the one and only God for HIS Glory…not our own self-glory!

Don’t go by what “Joseph”, “others”, or what “I” say. Take it upon yourself and search the Bible for HIS Word and seek HIM.

Jesus desires to give everyone HIS True Salvation. It’s your choice though, Jesus of the Bible or the lies of Joseph Smith; a sinner and a false prophet.

The Truth shall set you free. May you find peace in HIM,

For HIS Glory,

Are Mormons Christians?

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I have had LDS members tell me they think Mormonism is Christian, while other's ask me what are the differences. Below is very well explained and clearly shows that Mormonism is not Christian.

Interesting, Joseph Smith stated that all Christian Churches are an abomination. So that clearly sums up that the LDS Church is not a Christin, Bible believing one.

Also their prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley stated more than once that he doesn't believe in the traditional Jesus of the Bible. If he doesn't believe in the only true Christ of the Bible, he just reveled himself as a false prophet!

I have many loved ones caught up in bondage and I pray one day they will be delivered.

Are Mormons Christians?

by Tracy Tennant . Equipping Christians Ministries ( www.equippingchristians.com )

I could imagine the frustration, maybe even anger he was feeling as he asked, “If I am a Mormon and I believe in God and I accept Jesus Christ as my Savior and believe that he has atoned for my sins, why aren't I saved? So many people say that if you are a Mormon you will not be saved. I don't get that thinking.”

His pain over the thought that many people don’t regard Mormons as Christians was palpable. He continued, “I believe that my salvation is between me and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and no one else, with whom I have a great blessed relationship. Without Him I would be lost.He is the great Jehovah; I give him all the credit, even the air I breathe is a gift from Him.”

His testimony would melt even the coldest of hearts and bring many people to tears in an LDS “Fast & Testimony Meeting.” It certainly made me feel like crying, but for much a different reason. You see, a person’s faith is only as good as the object in which it is placed, and if that object does not exist, it cannot save. In this case, “The traditional Christ of whom [Christians] speak is not the Christ of whom [Mormons] speak. The Christ of whom [we] speak has been revealed in this Dispensation of the Fullness of Times…to the boy Joseph Smith” (Gordon Hinckley, Mormon prophet).

Since LDS leaders have repeatedly stressed that Mormons do not worship the Jesus of Christianity, as we will later examine in this article, I would have to ask an individual Mormon, such as the one quoted at the beginning, a few questions for clarification. Do you believe that in addition to faith in Jesus and His atonement you must live the Mormon gospel? Are you using the same definitions of God, Jesus Christ, grace, and salvation as Bible-believing Christians use? If a Mormon is using the same definitions (and if so, I would be curious as to why he or she is still professing to be LDS) and believes he is being saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus as revealed in the Bible alone, he will be saved.

On the other hand, if a Mormon (or anyone for that matter) rejects God of the Bible, Jesus as revealed in the Bible and salvation as explained in the Bible, then he or she cannot expect to get into the heaven of the Bible. Likewise, if I reject the Mormon Heavenly Father, Jesus-as-my-spirit-brother, temple work, and the gospel as presented by Mormonism, could I reasonably expect to get into the Celestial Kingdom? Absolutely not!

When we say that Mormons are not Christians, we do not mean that in an insulting or derogatory way. Mormons in general are a very industrious, kind, hard-working people with integrity and good moral values. They are good neighbors, honest citizens, and exemplify Judeo-Christian values. But being a Christian is more than just living a decent life and professing belief in Jesus. True Christianity is based on a particular theology on which the foundation is the Holy Word of God; in this case, the Bible. Authentic Christianity, in the purest sense, is comprised of core doctrines and beliefs, such as; sola scriptura (scripture alone), sola fide (faith alone; justification by faith), a Triune God, Christ’s COMPLETE work on the cross, the inerrancy of the Bible, believer’s baptism, priesthood of all believers, and a universal church, among other unique doctrines. If a person does not subscribe to those beliefs, he cannot be considered a Christian. The same holds true for Mormonism. If a person rejects Joseph Smith as a prophet, the Book of Mormon and other uniquely LDS scripture, temple-work, eternal progression, and baptism by those holding the Mormon priesthood, he cannot really be considered a Mormon. It is not an insult, it is just fact.

Mormons and Christians believe in and worship different gods. The god of Mormonism is an exalted man who started out eons ago as “an intelligence,” progressed to become a spirit son of his father-god and one of his father-god’s wives, was born as a mortal on a distant earth, tried to live a righteous life and eventually succeeded in becoming worthy enough to gain godhood and start making worlds of his own. He is an exalted man with a resurrected body and one of billions of gods in existence.

The Jesus of Mormonism began in the same way. He is the oldest spirit child of billions of spirits born to this world’s heavenly father and mother. According to Mormon doctrine, he worked out his own salvation (Bruce R. McKonkie, BYU Devotional, March 2, 1982). His atonement does not cover all sins. He was not born of a virgin through the power of the Holy Ghost, but rather, was conceived through the physical union of “heavenly father” and Mary. According to early teachings of the Mormon Church, he was a polygamist and had children (Family Home Evening Manual, 1972, p. 126; Journal of Discourses, vol. 1, p. 345-346; vol. 2, p. 82; 4, p. 259; Seer, p. 172; Joseph Fielding Smith's letter, March 17, 1963).

Grace in Mormonism is given after all a person can do on their own. Salvation in Mormonism is divided into two categories; general, unconditional salvation, and conditional, individual salvation. The free gift of salvation, according to LDS doctrine, is nothing more than a resurrected body, regardless of where the person ends up. However, to live forever in the presence of God requires obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Mormon gospel. In fact, Mormonism teaches that only those who get Joseph Smith’s approval will be saved! Brigham Young stated;

“How are you going to get your resurrection? You will get it by the President of resurrection, and that is Joseph Smith, Jun. Hear it all ye ends of the earth; if you ever enter into the kingdom of God it is because Joseph Smith let you go there. This will apply to Jews and Gentiles, to the bond, and the free; to friends and foes; no man or woman in this generation will get a resurrection and be crowned without Joseph Smith saying so. The man who was martyred in Carthage Jail, State of Illinois, holds the keys of life and death to this dispensation…” (Quoted from “The Essential Brigham Young,” Eugene E. Campbell, p. 99, emphasis added).

As we can see from Mormon Doctrine, Joseph Smith is claimed by the LDS church to be absolutely necessary for everyone’s salvation. “From the day that the priesthood was taken from the earth to the winding up of things, every man and woman must have the certificate of Joseph Smith, junior, as a passport to their entrance into the mansion where God and Christ are - I with you and you with me. I cannot go there without his consent.” (Journal of Discourses, vol. 7, p. 289. This teaching is also repeated in the LDS Church’s 1984 manual, “Search These Commandments,” p. 133.)

The Bible does not teach that salvation comes through Joseph Smith, but through Jesus Christ! It also teaches many other things that Mormonism has later contradicted. For example, God the Father is spirit (John 4:24). He does not have a body of flesh and bone (Luke 24:39). He is the ONLY God in existence, period. He has always existed as God and was never anything less than God.

Isaiah 40:28 The LORD is the everlasting God.

Isaiah 43:10 Before me there was no god formed, nor will there be one after me.

Isaiah 44:6 I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God.

Isaiah 44:8 Is there any God besides me? No, there is no other Rock; I know not one.

Isaiah 45:5 I am the LORD, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God.

Isaiah 45:18 I am the LORD and there is no other.

Isaiah 45:21 And there is no God apart from me, a righteous God and a Savior; there is none but me.

Isaiah 45:22 For I am God and there is no other.

Isaiah 46:9 I am God and there is no other; I am God and there is none like me.

The Bible says that God is NOT a man. God the Father is not a man; exalted or otherwise. Numbers 23:19, “God is not a man that He should lie; neither the son of man that He should repent…” And Hosea 11:9, “…I AM God, and not a man…” Job 9:32, “For He is not a man…” 1 Sam. 15:29, ”…The Strength of Israel [God] will not lie nor repent: for He is not a man…”

Jesus of the Bible is God incarnate, born of a virgin---meaning a young woman who had not had any sexual relations with either mortal man or “exalted man.” “Emmanuel” means “God with us” (Matthew 1:23). John 1:1 tells us that Jesus is the Word and the Word IS GOD! He is Creator of all things, including Lucifer and all the angels. He is not Lucifer’s or our spirit brother, because He created us! “For by Him [Jesus, Who is God] all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or ??powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.” (Col. 1:16, NKJV) Jesus created Lucifer (a.k.a. Satan); therefore He could not be his brother, as Mormonism teaches. Lucifer (Satan) is a created being, the “anointed cherub that covers.” Ezekiel 28:15, speaking of Satan, laments, “You were perfect in thy ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you.”

As for salvation by grace alone, the Bible is clear: “For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, ’Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.?’ But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for ‘?the just shall live by faith.?’ Yet ?the law is not of faith, but ‘the man who does them shall live by them.?’ Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us.” (Gal. 3:10-13).

Jesus came to save sinners, not turn people into gods and goddesses. “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23). The Bible teaches we are saved by grace through faith alone, and even our faith is the gift of God so that no one can boast (Eph. 2:8-9). There are no laws or ordinances in the gospel of God. The Gospel is a message. The Gospel is declared in 1 Cor. 15:1-4, where Paul said,

“I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you…For I also delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”

That is the gospel! It is the good news that changes lives! "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23). The GIFT is eternal life, not a resurrected body! Romans 1:16 tells us that "the gospel [is] the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes..." If "salvation" is only a resurrected body, as Mormon teachings instruct, then by that logic only believers will be resurrected.

In 2 Cor. 11:4, 13-15, Paul warns us about those who bring “another gospel." He warned that changing the gospel in any way makes it “another gospel” that brings God’s curse on those who preach it or accept it (Gal. 1:6-9). He wrote, “But though we, or an angel from heaven (like "Moroni" appearing to Joseph Smith or the angel Gabriel appearing to Mohammad), preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed” (Gal. 1:8-9).

Paul taught us, “A man is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified…I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by law, then Christ is dead in vain” (Gal. 2:16, 20-21).

Salvation (living eternally with God in heaven) is the gift of God to anyone who asks and puts their faith and trust in Jesus, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). If eternal life (salvation) was based on our works, it would no longer be a gift; it would become wages, and God does not indebt Himself to anyone. Romans 10:9-10 says, “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

As you can see, Christians and Mormons believe very different things about God, Jesus, and salvation. Mormon leaders have stated as much. In April 1977 General Conference, Bernard P. Brockbank (an LDS General Authority) said, “It is true that many of the Christian churches worship a different Jesus Christ than is worshipped by the Mormons …For example, from the Church of England’s Articles of Religion, article one, I quote: ‘There is but one living God, everlasting, without body, parts or passions.’ The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints worships a God and a Jesus Christ with bodies, with parts, and with passions… These two concepts are …completely different” (Ensign, May 1977, p. 26-27).

Speaking in Paris, France on June 4th, Frankfurt, Germany on June 5th, and in Geneva, Switzerland June 6th, 1998, LDS President Gordon B. Hinckley spoke of the Jesus of Mormonism;

“In bearing testimony of Jesus Christ, President Hinckley spoke of those outside of the Church who say that Latter-day Saints ‘do not believe in the traditional Christ. ‘No, I don’t. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak. For the Christ of whom I speak has been revealed in this Dispensation of the Fullness of Times. He, together with His Father, appeared to the boy Joseph Smith in the year 1820, and when Joseph left the grove that day, he knew more of the nature of God than all the learned ministers of the gospel of the ages‘” (The Church News, June 20th, 1998, p. 7).

During April, 2002, General Conference, President Hinckley said again, “As a Church we have critics, many of them. They say we do not believe in the traditional Christ of Christianity. There is some substance to what they say” (Ensign, May, 2002, p. 90).

For years the LDS Church distributed a pamphlet from the Visitors' Center on the Temple Square in Salt Lake City, which states;

"Christians often speak of the blood of Christ and its cleansing power. Much that is believed and taught on this subject, however, is such utter nonsense and so palpably false that to believe it is to lose one‘s salvation. For instance, many believe or pretend to believe that if we confess Christ with our lips and avow that we accept him as our personal Savior, we are thereby saved. They say that his blood, without any other act than mere belief, makes us clean” (excerpt by LDS apostle Bruce R. McKonkie in a devotional address at BYU, March 1982, entitled, "Our Relationship With the Lord).

The Jesus fashioned by LDS founder Joseph Smith is “another Jesus,” a god of his own making that is completely different from what the Bible reveals to us.

In contrast to the “Jesus Christ revealed by Joseph Smith," “the Christ of traditional Christianity" was prophesied by the Old Testament prophets and further revealed by the New Testament writers Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, Peter, Jude, and James, most of whom knew Him personally. They had walked with Him, talked with Him, lived with Him, seen Him crucified, buried, resurrected and ascend to heaven. That is the Christ of traditional Christianity! Their testimonies and the events of the times of Christ are recorded in the books of the Bible, of which God, the Word, is author. “ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” (2 Tim. 3:16). “The grass withers, and the flower falls away: But the Word of the Lord endures forever. Now this is the Word which by the gospel was preached unto you.” (1 Pet. 1:24-25). (Rauni Higley, H.I.S. Ministries, Salt Lake City, UT)

I believe I have been able to demonstrate that the differences are great enough to prevent Mormons from being saved according to biblical doctrines, and to prevent Christians from going to the Celestial Kingdom according to Mormon doctrines. We simply do not believe in the same God, the same Jesus, or the same salvation.

Anyone who has been taught something all their lives will naturally believe it to be true, and I was one of them until I studied for myself. We cannot blindly follow tradition, no matter how near and dear to us. Our task then is to examine the evidence and determine from facts, rather than feelings, what the truth is. The preponderance of evidence for the veracity of the Bible and the biblical gospel is so overwhelming, that to refuse to believe and trust it is like looking at the noon-day sun and deny it is shining.

godhood, self- exalted

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I have more truth that needs to be shared upon this godhood that is taught in the LDS church. If they would take the time to actually research their own teachings of the church and compare it to the Bible, they would soon see the errors (Lies) of their teachings w/in their church. Many are totally afraid to look for the truth as they have been told NOT to. They are firmly told(I too was told then) not to look at anti-Mormon literature. Well one needs to take into consideration is that Anti-Mormon articles doesn't make it Antichrist.Anything worthy of searching for, should be free to do so.

The LDS church claims you have "freedom of Agency" yet it's the first thing that is taken from you !!!
Please take a glance of this list of attaining godhood and see for yourself if it's Biblical.

Reading this clearly removes the whole purpose of Jesus dying on the cross for our sins. If what the LDS doctrines/prophets teach on godhood to be truth.....than Jesus is not needed.....WE CAN DO IT OURSELVES.........taking it back to Satan and Self-ism!

truthinlovetomormons.com/basic_mormon_doctrine/summary/goal.htm

Godhood as Their Ultimate Goal

The ultimate goal of Mormonism is to become a god

Equivalent terms are exaltation, eternal life and having an eternal family

Godhood as the goal is often understated

Godhood is still clearly and universally taught

Doctrine & Covenants 132:19,20: "...then they shall be gods..."

Compare with Christianity

Exaltation, in Mormonism, means godhood

Being saved, in Mormonism, usually refers only to resurrection

In Mormonism, resurrection is a free gift, but exaltation must be earned

Talk to Mormons about exaltation not about salvation

Godhood as a Disputed Goal

Godhood is clearly the goal of Mormonism

Often Mormons talk about eternal life, exaltation, or eternal family but do not connect these with godhood - even though they are all synonymous

Many Mormons discount "becoming a god" but embrace "eternal life" or having an "eternal family"

Often we need to show Mormons what the LDS church teaches

Godhood as a Hidden Goal

Godhood is not part of Mormon missionary's discussions

The goal of Godhood is not part of the LDS Church's television advertisements

Many Mormon converts say they have never heard of godhood as a goal

The doctrine of godhood makes the LDS church look very non-Christian

The LDS church is actively trying to appear Christian - to make it appear that there is not so great a distance between Mormonism and Christianity

The divide between Mormonism and Christianity is pictured in Luke 16:23 when the rich man in hell looked across the great chasm to see Lazarus with Abraham

Godhood as an Eternal Family

The LDS church attracts people with its doctrine of eternal families

Their advertisements and initial discussions do not mention that only gods can have an eternal family.

A single person cannot be exalted

Mormonism places family as the highest priority, seemingly above even their Christ

Many Mormons no longer realize their church teaches they can not have an eternal family without becoming a god

God as Man / Man as God

The Mormon god was once just a man

The Mormon god earned the right to be a god

The Mormon god is flesh and blood

The Mormon god is limited in power compared to the Christian God

The religion of Mormonism is man-centric and not, like Christianity, God-centric

Mormonism is attractive because it gives man, ultimately, the power and the glory that rightly belongs to God

One God or Many

Mormonism teaches there are many (millions?) of gods - each with their own world or universe

Mormons base their claim to believe in only one god by saying they only put their faith in the god of this world

But the god of this world is really three separate gods organized into a "godhead" unified in direction

Mormonism rejects the concept of the triune God - even though the oldest Mormon documents appear to substantiate this concept

Perfection as Their Intermediate Goal

Eternal life is not a free gift in Mormonism

Eternal life must be earned by becoming perfect and fulfilling other requirements

Mormonism has taken the command "Be ye perfect" and turned it into "Become ye perfect"

Teaches you can become perfect

Rejects Christ's perfection offered to his children.

Doctrine of perfection creates a lot of stress in Mormons

Rejects the biblical teaching that the purpose of God's law is to show us our sin and turn us (convert us) to rely solely on what Jesus did for us.

Obsessed with becoming perfect

Substantially weakens the definition of sin - many sins are called transgressions or mistakes.

Progression towards perfection will take a long time, working even ages after death.

Also taught that the second coming is near

Creates a paradox: If Christ came today, won't most Mormons have not had enough time to become perfect?

Perfection as a Watered-down Goal

Mormonism teaches you must become perfect to gain eternal life

Also teaches you can't become perfect, but must "do all you can do" to become perfect

And it teaches you shouldn't worry about becoming perfect, if you are diligent then god will "make up the difference"

Mormonism teaches there were many perfect men

But current Mormon Sunday school curriculum states "perfection in this life is not possible or even expected"

Recent LDS church articles make all of these claims

Mormonism rejects the Gospel message of free eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ

Redefines 'grace' from a free gift of God to a power their god grants the worthy to do what they could not do on their own - even this 'grace' must be earned

Recent quote of a Mormon apostle: "The gospel of Jesus Christ is the gospel of work."

Result of this doublespeak seems to be the over-reaching message from the LDS church to its members of "don't think about it, just keep working and it will all work out!"

Becoming a god? How many are there?

Below is one of the many reasons why Mormonism is NOT Christianity. The Mormon doctrine is not biblical. I saddens me that so many people are caught up in this lie. There are many LDS people, my family included that don't even know their own teachings. For those that want to read below about becoming your own god and the teachings of being able to procreate your own world, keep reading. This teaching is taught and is what they believe, though it is not biblical . There is only ONE GOD/ONE SAVIOR!

How Can Being God Over Your Own Kingdom
Really Be Heaven?

There is little doubt that the goal of every faithful male Latter-day Saint is to one day be elevated to the level of an infinite God and rule and reign over his own personal kingdom. Mormon Apostle James Talmage wrote:
"We believe in a God who is Himself progressive, whose majesty is intelligence; whose perfection consists in eternal advancement -- a Being who has attained His exalted state by a path which now His children are permitted to follow, whose glory it is their heritage to share" (The Articles of Faith, p. 430).

Since the Latter-day Saint male believes he is following the "same path" to Godhood as Elohim, he is really doing nothing more than repeating a process started by an infinite number of Gods aeons ago. The "exalted" Mormon male, like all Gods before Him, will supposedly go on to populate his world, just as the God of Mormonism populates this one. In turn, he will receive worship of his offspring just as Elohim receives worship. Mormon Apostle Orson Pratt explains:

"Each God, through his wife or wives, raises up a numerous family of sons and daughters; indeed, there will be no end to the increase of his own children: for each father and mother will be in a condition to multiply forever and ever. As soon as each God has begotten many millions of male and female spirits, and his Heavenly inheritance becomes too small, to comfortably accommodate his great family, he, in connection with his sons, organizes a new world, after a similar order to the one which we now inhabit, where he sends both the male and female spirits to inhabit tabernacles of flesh and bones. Thus each God forms a world for the accommodation of his own sons and daughters who are sent forth in their times and seasons, and generations to be born into the same. The inhabitants of each world are required to reverence, adore, and worship their own personal father who dwells in the Heaven which they formerly inhabited" (The Seer, p. 37).

Mr. Pratt's comments raise some interesting points. If a human-turned-God has the ability to procreate throughout eternity and organize a new one when the former is full, are we to assume that Elohim (the God of Mormonism) has other planets out there somewhere that he is in charge of? If not, and since this planet we call home is still far from being filled, would it not be correct to assume that Elohim hasn't been a God for very long?

Let us set aside reason (and scripture) for a moment and hypothetically assume that Mormons can reach Godhood and acquire the necessary attributes for such an eternal feat. Is such an eternity really going to be what most Mormons expect?

Though the Bible gives very few details of what heaven will be like, it is described as a real place so wonderful that our thoughts cannot imagine its glory:

"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him" (1 Corinthians 2:9).

Revelation 21:4 adds:

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

Because of sin, man has proven to be the cruelest of God's creations. Through man's sinful acts he has brought suffering and pain upon himself and others. No human alive could ever honestly say that life here on earth does not have its share of heartaches, disappointments, and sorrow. All of us have seen the effects of a fallen race, and the view is often very unpleasant.

We hear of places like Auschwitz, Rwanda, and Tiananmen Square. Such names flash horrible pictures of the dead, in some cases tens of thousands of them, slaughtered as a result of human depravity. Historical figures like Adolph Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Idi Amin, and Mao Tse-tung prove to us that there seems to be no limit to man's inhumanity to man.

We see the effects of sin on God's creation and we ask ourselves, "Is God pleased with us? Is what takes place every day on earth really making God happy?" Remember, according to Mormonism, this is Elohim's "heaven." This planet was his inheritance and reward for a life of good works in a previous world and while it is true that Mormons do not believe their God is physically present, they do believe he is aware of what takes place here.

Though the Bible denies such a teaching, Mormonism teaches that every human being is a literal child of God. (The Bible declares we become children of God only through faith in Christ.) Given this LDS premise, it is fair to ask, "Does God overflow with joy watching His children stumble through life? Does He bubble with pride as He witnesses His children killing each other in war, aborting their babies, overdosing on drugs, and stealing from each other?" Only the most sadistic of creatures would define heaven in such a disappointing way. Yet, if Mormonism is true, the Latter-day Saint who hopes to one day obtain Godhood can expect no better. Second LDS President Brigham Young made this clear when he said,

"Sin is upon every earth that ever was created, and if it was not so, I would like some philosophers to let us know how people can be exalted to become sons of God, and enjoy a fulness of glory with the Redeemer. Consequently every earth has its redeemer, and every earth has its tempter; and every earth, and the people thereof, in their turn and time, receive all that we receive, and pass through all the ordeals that we are passing through" (Journal of Discourses 14:71-72).

If Brigham is telling the truth--and Mormons have no reason to doubt it--then every earth ever created, including the one they hope to eventually inherit, will be infected with sin. Every Mormon couple who obtains Godhood has no choice but to look forward to the day when one of their own children will cause the other family members to rebel (tempter) and fall into sin, thus making it necessary to sacrifice another one of their children to die for the sins of the rest of the family (redeemer). "All the ordeals that we are passing through," death, sorrow, failure, etc., will be experienced again and again, only this time, the Mormon, as "God," will be in charge of the mess.

Since the Bible teaches such sorrows will be "passed away" in heaven, the LDS version of heaven is hardly that which is described in Revelation 21:4. In fact, it isn't really a heaven at all.

False teachings of a Mother-god?

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Came across something interesting:

Thus Saith the Prophets of Mormonism ...

12th President Spencer W. Kimball- “God made man in his own image and certainly he made woman in the image of his wife-partner” (Teachings of Spencer W. Kimball, p.25).

Here is another article that worth your time reading (for those who wish to seek the truth):

(I have these articles linked, as the credit belongs to the writer, not me. I do know through many years of my research, the info I share are true).

Mother God

Mormonism not only teaches a Heavenly Father with flesh and bones, but also a "Heavenly Mother" with flesh and bones as well. LDS Apostle James Talmage wrote, "We are expressly told that God is the Father of spirits, and to apprehend the literalness of this solemn truth we must know that a Mother of spirits is an existent personality" (A. of F., p. 443).

And LDS Apostle Bruce McConkie wrote, "This doctrine that there is a Mother in Heaven was affirmed in plainness by the First Presidency of the Church (Joseph F. Smith, John R. Winder, and Anthon H. Lund) when in speaking of pre-existence and the origin of man, they said that 'man as a spirit was begotten and born of heavenly parents and reared to maturity in the eternal mansions of the Father'" (M.D., p. 516).

And the same author declared, "We, the human family, literally the sons and daughters of Divine Parents, the literal progeny of God our Eternal Father, and of our God Mother, are away from home for a season" (The Philosophical Basis of Mormonism, p. 9).

Milton Hunter also said, "The stupendous truth of the existence of a Heavenly Mother, as well as a Heavenly Father, became established facts in Mormon Theology" (G.T.A., p. 98).

Hunter then quoted the familiar Mormon hymn, "O My Father." The third verse declares, "In the heav'ns are parents single? No; the tho't makes reason stare! Truth is reason, Truth eternal, Tells me I've a Mother there" (G.T.A., pp. 99-100).

The LDS teaching of a Heavenly Mother clearly indicates she has a body just like the Heavenly Father, so that they can procreate offspring. Since they have resurrected bodies of flesh and bones, why are their children born as baby spirits without bodies of flesh and bone?

Exaltation or Bondage?

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
"If a faith will not bear to be investigated; if its preachers and professors are afraid to have it examined; their foundation must be very weak."
-- (Journal of Discourses 14:216-217)

Eternal Progression is none other then of a cult, leading HIS sheep away into darkness with ‘self-ism’.

Eternal progression is ‘self exaltation’ by earning your way to the highest of heavens (3 different glories);by building your own kingdom by establishing godhood. Becoming: self made gods and goddesses.

Here is an article that is very true. It’s sad that many are caught up in this self-ism trap:

Celestial Marriage & Eternal Exaltation
By Lane Thuet
Exaltation according to Mormonism means gaining a fullness of all God has to offer. It includes reaching the "highest level" of the LDS heaven (called the celestial kingdom), attaining all knowledge available, and becoming a "God" over your own creation. Former LDS Apostle Bruce McConkie wrote that those who attain exaltation "…inherit in due course the fullness of the glory of the Father, meaning that they have all power in heaven and on earth..." (Mormon Doctrine pg. 257). The LDS Doctrine and Covenants also teaches that "then shall they be gods, because they have no end…then shall they be gods, because they have all power…" (D&C 132:16-26). This is the ultimate goal in Mormonism.
One of the requirements to reach this goal is what Mormons call "celestial marriage." Today celestial marriage is simply defined as a marriage in a Mormon temple designed to last not just until death but throughout all eternity. Couples joined in such marriages are considered "sealed" to each other. Their children afterward are automatically "sealed" to them as well. This, they believe, ensures that their family will continue in heaven eternally as a complete unit.
McConkie wrote, "Celestial marriage is the gate to exaltation, and exaltation consists in the continuation of the family unit in eternity. Exaltation is…the kind of life which God lives" (Mormon Doctrine pg. 257). Celestial marriage is an absolute necessity to reach this desired goal. Its importance in the place of salvation and exaltation cannot be overestimated. "The most important things that any member of (the LDS Church) ever does in this world are: 1) To marry the right person, in the right place, by the right authority; and 2) To keep the covenant made in connection with this holy and perfect order of matrimony…" (Mormon Doctrine pg. 118).
All Mormon men who desire Godhood are required to marry; if they do not, their leaders have taught that their actions will be displeasing to God. For instance, 10th LDS President Joseph Fielding Smith said, "Any young man who carelessly neglects this great commandment to marry, or who does not marry because of a selfish desire to avoid the responsibilities which married life will bring, is taking a course which is displeasing in the sight of God…There can be no exaltation without it. If a man refuses…he is taking a course which may bar him forever from (exaltation)." (Doctrines of Salvation 2:74).
Those who choose to remain single or do not enter into the covenant of celestial marriage while on earth are no longer in obedience to God or to LDS authorities. They will not advance to Godhood, but will be given menial tasks as angels for all eternity. "Many who practice celibacy do so out of an excessive religious devotion and with the idea in mind that they are serving their Maker. In reality, they are forsaking some of the most important purposes of their creation…" (Mormon Doctrine pg. 119). "Therefore, when they are out of the world they… are appointed angels in heaven… to minister for those who are worthy of a far more, and an exceeding, and an eternal weight of glory. For these angels did not abide my law" (Doctrine and Covenants 132:16-17).
We have to wonder, then, about the Apostle Paul or even Jesus Himself. Are they nothing more than "ministering angels" because they remained single here on earth? This would seem to be the case. However, to avoid this difficulty, LDS leaders have taught that both of them were married. In fact, some even taught that Jesus was a polygamist. See Journal of Discourses 1:345, 2:82, 4:259; The Seer, p.172.
Despite the fact that there is no clear record that Apostle Paul was married, McConkie insisted, "…it is interesting to note that it is to Paul that advocates of celibacy turn in a fruitless search to find scripture justifying this unnatural mode of living. Paul himself was married. Of this there is no question. He had the sure promise of eternal life; his calling and election had been made sure - which, according to God's eternal laws, could not have been unless he had first entered into the order of celestial marriage." (Mormon Doctrine pg. 119).
McConkie's assertion is without biblical support. Unlike the LDS Church's emphasis on marriage, Paul said it was good for a man not to marry because it allowed him to put all of his efforts into serving Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 7:7). He never connected singleness with disobedience but acknowledged that such a man would naturally be concerned about providing for his family. This responsibility would hinder him from focusing solely on serving the Lord. When Paul advocated marriage in 1 Corinthians 7, he did so within the context of man's weakness. Since man is weak and often tempted to sin, it would be better that he marry and remain faithful rather than stay single and risk sinning sexually (1 Cor. 7:2-9). Due to the nature of man, then, it is better to marry-thereby becoming whole (Gen. 2:24, 1 Cor. 7:2,9).
While the Bible teaches that it is good for man to marry (Gen. 2:24, 1 Cor. 7:2,9), it is not a requirement for salvation, nor was marriage designed to last for all eternity (Matt. 22:30; Mark 12:25).

Friends, as you can see, in Matt 22:30 & Mark 12:25, it clearly states there is no marriage in Heaven. The ones that are saved will be Brothers and Sisters in Christ!

Imagine the stress all LDS wives have! By their religious beliefs, it’s up to their husbands to get them to the highest glory. Their husbands are the ones that will call them by their secret temple names on resurrection day to become a god/goddess on another plant to procreate!!!! It seems they are at their husbands mercy!!!! HOW SAD!! Jesus never designed such a trap!

Total bondage!!!

Lord.. I thank you for your deliverance!! I pray all the Mormons will soon be delivered from this bondage that is total darkness!!

His word will never pass away

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
How interesting it is that the LDS Doctrines teach that the Book of Mormon is the most correct book on earth, yet at the same time it states that the Bible has been corrupted.

That makes it very convenient to ignore God’s word, should it disagree with the teachings of Joseph Smith.(Sad but very true).

Now should one read a few verses such as:

1 John 5:13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.

Isaiah 40:8 it says that- 'The word of God shall stand forever'. 1 Peter 1:23& 25 says that- 'The word of God which liveth and abideth forever' and 'The word of the Lord endureth forever'.

Jesus also declared “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Matthew 24:35.

If HE is all power in Heaven and earth, and He says His word will never pass away, we should believe it!

Rev. 19:6 calls God “The Lord God is omnipotent”. (ALL POWERFUL). If God cared enough to give mankind His Word, then He ought to be able to preserve it.

In their teachings, it is also taught that “As man is, God once was; as God is, man may become”. Considering in Numbers 23:19 and Romans 1:22-23 it clearly says that God is NOT a man, that leaves the teachings of the LDS prophets to be none other then bogus.

By reading this, it is clear that God was not a man, nor can we become gods ourselves.

Remember, Satan had the same desire “to be a god” and look where that got him!!!! So why is something so deadly and blasphemous being taught?

We can not become 'gods' on another planet as is taught in the LDS teachings known as Eternal Progression.

My next entry will be on Eternal Progression.....false teachings

Seeking HIS Word while in a dark place

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Sharing a bit of my past during a very hard path. Becoming free from Bondage is an awesome blessing!

I hope and pray that many will be able to find HIS Truth. My heart is so burdened for the Mormon people to finally find their way and no longer be lost in false doctrines.

I was a Mormon for 27 years before I decided to do a full investigation on the LDS Church. Most Mormons that are born into that church have no reason to even think it may be wrong. It's easy to go along with it, as your parents and probably all or most of the family members are LDS too. Nothing much to question.......ummmmmm until one begins to ask God for HIS True Word and having the desire to really know what is true and what is a lie. HE then helps you to find HIM. (SEEK HIM and there you shall find HIM!). Deuteronomy 4:29 But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and all your soul

I have been accused many times, (and some still may do so today) of me setting out to look for the church to be in the wrong. NOPE! They were so wrong in their hurtful statements of false accusations.

The truth is, I actually set out to become the "Temple Girl". I took classes to become "Mormon enlightened" that was taught by a missionary in the young adults ward. I wanted to be worthy in that church. I wanted to marry a temple worthy man and be sealed for time and eternity. I believed the Book of Mormon was true, even when I hadn’t even read it.

During my little journey of becoming temple worthy and taking the Mormon classes, things began to change.

My sister worked for a Chiropractor. He was a Christian and began sharing things about the Bible and a Bible Study that was starting soon. We were both invited to go. We signed up while we were still attending the LDS Church. Ironically, the class was starting on “The Book of John!”

In the beginning was THE WORD.....and the WORD was with God, and the word WAS GOD. WOOHOOOO a wake up call! Then came John 3:16-For God so loved the world that HE gave HIS 'ONLY' begotten Son, that whoever believes in HIM should not perish but have everlasting life!!!!!!

WOW! HIS 'ONLY' Son, meaning that Satan is NOT Christ's brother.....and believing in Christ that Christ died on the cross for MY SINS and rose again on the third day, believing that HE IS MY ONLY LORD AND MY SAVIOR....I AM SAVED! (A gift from God, not works- so no one can boast!) How intense this class became. Now I was really reading HIS Word! I began asking more questions, praying more, shedding tears, standing all amazed, yet wondering how this can be. Learning what was meant by “SAVED BY GRACE” and “MERCY” was a new language.

I asked God to show me the truth. A few questions about Joseph Smith didn't add up!! Why was he so important? Was he a true prophet? I wanted to know if he was a true prophet or not. I didn't ask to see if the LDS church was false....I simply asked God for 'the truth'......THE TRUTH SET ME FREE!!!

The harder I looked to find Joseph Smith truthful, the more God showed me he wasn't. I thought well then, either Joseph Smith is a true prophet or he is false.

On A Sunday morning, I asked the LDS missionary teacher in my class about these "personages". I was basically told to be quiet, don't ask, and just believe what they say! I apparently moved the missionary out of his comfort –zone and he had no answers.

THIS CALLED FOR a full investigation of the teachings of the LDS church!

The Lord directed me to HIS Truth and sent wonderful Christians my way. They were all such a blessing! (And patient with me too)

I began to compare scriptures (Bible to BoM). I also had received a gift from my sister for Easter, as we were both in search by this time. The book my sister gave me was called, Beyond Mormonism, an Elder’s Story by James R. Spencer. James (Jim) shared many things of Darkness that the LDS teachings hold. The book gave reliable reference as well. I was able to further my research and see that the LDS Doctrines contradicted themselves with their own doctrines.

I went through heart ache, anger, and fears and then back to anger knowing that I had been deceived by the LDS teachings! I was lied to!! Joseph Smith lied many times as so did Brigham Young! Joseph Smith was/is a FALSE PROPHET! The LDS church was and still is teaching false doctrines! (Many Innocent Mormons are lost and have no clue).

The Bible doesn’t say, if you do all of these ordinances, tokens, believe that Joseph Smith is a true prophet, be sealed in the Temple and don't defile your garments, know the secret handshakes, pay up all your tithes, stay worthy (we are filthy rags by the way), keep the word of wisdom do aaaaaallll of these things, etc. etc. etc. and then you will have everlasting life; should "God's right hand man" Joseph Smith say so...NOT SO! If all of these things are required for salvation, that would say that Jesus died on the cross in vain. That would also say that God isn’t a Redeemer, if all we have to do is earn our way and have 2nd chances by proxy.

John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Joseph Smith has no part in my life or in anyone’s for that matter. It’s all about Jesus NOT Joseph Smith.

This was a whole new world for me. There were tears of joy, knowing I was on my way out of bondage!

I then had to make that final decision. Which Master did I want to follow? The God of the Bible that is Omnipotent that reigns, or one that leads to everlasting burnings?

On knee, I asked the Lord God (of the Bible) to forgive me for my sins and to be my ONE and only Lord and Savior.

After I spent time in prayer with the Lord, I soon knew I needed to be re baptized. And so I did. I was baptized in the Pacific Ocean.

Every since I left Mormonism, I have had such a desire to help other’s, including my loved ones out of bondage. I pray one day every Mormon will be delivered out of darkness and receive true salvation in Christ.

I am so grateful to be out of bondage and saved by Christ Jesus. HE has blessed me so much! Though there are many trials I still go through, Jesus is right there with me every step of the way.

He is Sovereign!

A message of truth

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Greetings!

This is my new journey. I hope to bring HIS light into a dark world.
Many souls are in bondage and need to be free in Christ Jesus!

My first verse I would like to share with those that choose to keep reading:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

WOW!!! What an awesome message for us!!! Jesus loves you & I so much that HE chose to die on the cross for our sins. He didn't come to condemn the world, but to save the world.

All too often we believe Satan's lies.....thinking we have done too many bad things in life to ever be forgiven. NOT SO! Satan is the father of lies. Satan condemns and accuses us of anything. When we are feeling low, it's easy to buy the lie.

The truth is, it's not too late to be saved! God is all powerful and HE is waiting to hear from you.
Our prayer doesn't have to be elegant or perfect. Just have an honest heart.

Blessings!
